During the eight months of this year, migrants committed about 18,000 illegal acts. This is 39% lower than last year, noted in the TFR. The number of serious crimes committed by migrants has halved. At the same time, the number of cases of crimes committed by persons who recently received Russian citizenship increased by a quarter.
According to the Investigative Committee, for eight months of 2026, the number of crimes of ethnic groups increased by 13%. Representatives of the “former Soviet republics of Transcaucasia and Central Asia” most often participate in them, the press release said. The number of identified cases of illegal migration increased to 3 thousand.
