According to Mr. Nemkin, to “update” “State Services” and EMIAS scammers send a malicious file. Once installed, attackers gain access to the device’s data and functions. “Public and medical services do not require applications to be installed from a link from a call or message. Applications should be downloaded only from official sources, the source said.
The MP noted that the scheme is designed to trust the victim, who is convinced that a well-known service needs updating. In addition, attackers create a sense of urgency. Anton Nemkin recommended not to follow the links from suspicious messages and tell elderly relatives about the risks.
