The Supreme Court of Russia reduced the sentence of Marcel Hasanov by one month, who was given 13 years in a special regime colony for occupying a higher position in the criminal hierarchy, as well as insulting a government official and threatening to use violence against a FSIN employee. This writes TASS with reference to the case materials.
The court denied the convict and his defence a request to quash the sentence and dismiss the case. Marcel Hasanov was sentenced in November 2025 by the Sverdlovsk Regional Court and additionally fined 1 million rubles. According to the investigation, in 2024, the businessman was appointed “overseeing” the Sverdlovsk region. His status was given to criminal authorities Zakhari Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy) and Badri Koguashvili (Badri Kutaissky). In criminal circles, Hasanov was called Marcel Makhachkala or Mars.
According to the prosecution, Marcel Hasanov spread and preserved criminal traditions, as well as controlled and supported the activities of criminal structures in the Middle Urals. While already in jail, in March 2025, Hasanov publicly insulted an employee of the Sverdlovsk Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service and threatened him. The defendant partially admitted guilt in this episode. At the court debate, he also relinquished his "watcher" status.
