A lawyer from Chelyabinsk was detained until winter for a bribe of 10 million

The court granted the petition of the Investigative Committee investigator and sent the 51-year-old Chelyabinsk lawyer of the city bar chamber Dmitry Mezentsev to the pre-trial detention center. The measure of restraint is elected until December 8.

Mezentsev is accused of fraud on an especially large scale. Recall that according to the investigation, the lawyer for a bribe of 10 million rubles offered the representative of the company to resolve the issue with the arbitration court in favor of the commercial company, referring to his connections. The money was transferred to him on September 18, 2025 through the head of the legal service in one of the Chelyabinsk restaurants. However, Mezentsev was not going to somehow settle the issue with the court and just spent 10 million rubles at his discretion.

The case is being investigated by the SU TFR in the Chelyabinsk region, and is accompanied by regional employees of the FSB of Russia.
