The accused of committing a fatal accident on the Solotchinsky bridge was arrested until December 2, 2026, the press service of the Prosecutor’s office of the Ryazan region reported.

Today, October 9, a 21-year-old young man was charged under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on traffic violation and operation of the vehicle, which entailed the death of two or more persons by a driver who is intoxicated. He faces imprisonment of eight to 15 years.

At the request of the police investigator and taking into account the position of the prosecutor, the Soviet district court chose him a measure of restraint in the form of detention. The arrested person was placed in a detention center.

The accident occurred on October 2. As a result of the accident, two sisters died.
