- A special line “102” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received a message from a taxi driver that he dropped off a passenger at a public transport stop and suggests that she came there under the influence of fraudsters, with whom he had a telephone conversation all the way. The police service technician “102” clarified all the circumstances, asked the driver to return to the woman, and also transferred information to the Zhdanovichi police department of the Minsk police department for prompt response. The employee communicated with the woman before the arrival of police officers, explained that fraudsters communicate with her. As a result, the citizen was able to save more than 5 thousand euros and 500 Belarusian rubles, the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Senyuk gave details.
The police assured that the specialists of the service “102” are able to find an approach to everyone. They know all the schemes that scammers use in their daily criminal activities.
- In general, now the police of the Minsk region records an increase in the facts of leaving money at stops, as well as attracting citizens by fraudsters to their courier delivery to stops, the department added.
We also reminded that state bodies do not require the transfer of funds directly or through a courier, do not communicate with citizens through instant messengers. Be vigilant and do not give in to tricks. In case of doubt, call the line 102. In Minsk detained two foreign couriers scammers who managed to take from victims of fraud more than 100 thousand.
