Belarusian customs officers stopped the illegal import of goods worth more than 3.3 million

Employees of the Minsk regional customs established the fact of import into the territory of the EAEU of some goods under the guise of others in order to understate the customs duties to be paid. This was reported in the GTK, writes sb.by.

The truck of the Kazakh carrier, in which, according to the accompanying documents, there was a groupage cargo weighing 20.5 tons, arrived for registration in the Minsk-TLC-2 PTO from Kazakhstan.

During the inspection, it was found that more than half of the goods, which is about 360,000 units of clothing and shoes, auto parts, electrical equipment, kitchen utensils and others, were indicated in the documents under other names.

The value of illegally imported goods amounted to more than 3.3 million. A statement of incorrect information would save more than 220,000 on customs payments.

On this fact, customs in respect of the carrier initiated an administrative process in accordance with part 1 of article 15.5 of the administrative code. The article provides for a fine of 30% of the value of the subject of an administrative offense.
