Four children drowned in the Vladimir region

In the administration of the Vladimir region held a meeting of the Commission on emergency situations.

The main topic was the results of the fire hazard period and the swimming season.

The situation with forest fires this year was one of the calmest in recent years. While the region experienced 39 wildfires last year, the number has dropped to 6.

The number of dry grass fell by more than four times - from 527 to 117 cases. Police and Emergencies Ministry inspectors made 114 reports on violators.

However, the swimming season brought tragic losses: the water took the lives of 17 people, including four children.

For comparison, 22 people died in 2025.

Now rescuers and local authorities have an equally difficult task - to prevent victims during ice.

Officials were instructed to ban access to the fragile ice at the legislative level and begin explanatory work with the population.
