The true cause of the malaise was established only after an ultrasound examination of the heart. On the heart valves, bacterial formations were detected, the size of which reached one and a half centimeters. The attending physician associated the condition with a recent visit to the dentist and suggested that microorganisms entered the bloodstream during the procedure, and then fixed on the heart valves.
The man underwent surgery, during which the affected valve was replaced. In the future, before a number of dental interventions, the patient may need to take antibacterial drugs.
