The expert doubts that the Usoltsev family could disappear without a trace

The disappearance of the Usoltsev family in the Krasnoyarsk taiga is unusual for places visited by tourists. This opinion in a conversation with RIA Novosti was expressed by Vladimir Popov, a member of the Presidium of the Federation of Orienteering Sports of the Primorsky Territory and a master of sports in orienteering.

According to him, missing people in the visited areas usually can be found alive or dead. Popov noted that the surroundings of Mount Buratinka, as far as he knows, also attract tourists.

Sergei and Irina Usoltsev together with her daughter, who at the time of disappearance was 5 years old, went on a campaign on September 28, 2025. The family went to Mount Buratinka near the village of Kuturchin in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and did not return. They had a corgis dog with them. More than a year later, the whereabouts of the missing remain unknown.

Earlier, the former investigator for especially important cases Amurkhan Yandiyev, who participated in the capture of serial killers, including Andrei Chikatilo, called the most likely criminal version. In an interview with RIA Novosti, he suggested that the Usoltsevs could hide from the rain in the house of strangers in one of the nearest settlements and become victims of crime. There is no confirmed information about this development.

The position of the investigation is different from that of Yandiyev. The version of the accident remains a priority, although the possibility of a crime is not excluded. The investigation into the disappearance of the family continues.
