Investor from Velikie Luk lost 1.5 million rubles: how advertising in social networks turned into a financial disaster
A resident of Veliky Bow became the victim of fraudsters disguised as a large gas company

A resident of Veliky Bow became the victim of fraudsters disguised as a large gas company. It all started with a social media ad that promised weekly dividends to anyone who decided to invest. The man left the application - and almost immediately he was called back by a courteous "analyst".
The interlocutor helped install a “trading platform” – later it turned out that it was a phishing application imitating the work of an investment service. For the test, the great-boatman invested 10 thousand rubles and almost immediately saw an increase in the amount in his personal account. Spectacular visualization and convincing reports quickly turned their heads.
Inspired by the “success”, the man took serious steps: he sold the old garage, issued a loan and in total transferred 1.5 million rubles to the account of the attackers. The disaster became obvious when he tried to withdraw at least part of the funds: the fraudsters demanded to pay a “withdrawal tax” in the amount of 200 thousand rubles. Only then did the man realize that he had faced fraud and went to the police.
