According to investigators, on the evening of August 29, the man took flowers from the Eternal Flame and began to set them on fire from its flames. The memorial is dedicated to the soldiers who died during the assault of Koenigsberg in April 1945.
The cameras of the “Safe City” system recorded the actions of the man, and the employees of Regardie promptly stopped them.
Investigators gathered evidence and referred the case to the court with an approved indictment. The man is accused under part one of Article 244 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - of desecration of a tomb building.
