Communal accident on the Great Soviet in Smolensk completely eliminated

Traffic on Bolshaya Sovetskaya Street in Smolensk will be restored. According to the head of the city, Alexander Novikov, the work on eliminating a communal accident on heating networks and restoring the road surface has been fully completed. At the moment, the final cleaning of the territory is underway.

We will remind, earlier in the area of the turn on the Cathedral Hill there was an accident on the heat supply networks “RIR Energy” and “Smolensk generation”. To eliminate the consequences, specialists quickly arrived at the site, three brigades were involved in the work.

Due to the need for repairs, traffic on one of the main transport arteries of the city was completely blocked in both directions. In connection with the incident, the city authorities decided to temporarily lower the heating parameters in residential buildings and social institutions. Drivers were strongly advised to select detour routes in advance.

At the moment, experts have completed the replacement of damaged pipeline fragments, welding and filling the pit. After the restoration of asphalt concrete coating, the workers began cleaning the repair site.

The situation was under the personal control of the city authorities. The full opening of the street for motorists will be announced.
