In Kostroma, a 50-year-old local resident will appear in court, who is accused of fictitiously putting a foreign citizen on migration registration.
According to the investigation, from 2024 to 2026, the man issued a foreigner registration at the place of stay in his apartment, although in fact he did not live there.
In addition, the owner of housing several times appealed to the migration service to extend the period of temporary stay in Russia.
Later, law enforcement officers established that the address indicated in the documents was not the actual place of residence of the migrant. After that, a criminal case was opened against the owner of the apartment.
The materials of the investigation have already been transferred to the court. According to the regional Investigative Committee, the accused can face up to five years in prison.
