A fluffy white-brown cat sits on a kitchen countertop and curiously touches the lever of the mixer with his paw, from which a stream of water flows into the sink.
A cat from the Ulyanovsk region was left home alone, his paw opened the water tap and caused a flood.

In the Ulyanovsk region of Russia, an incident involving a pet was recorded: an unattended cat managed to independently open a tap with water with his paw, which led to a large-scale flooding of the premises. According to Gazeta.Ru, such incidents due to the fault of four-legged pets occur regularly.
One of the most common causes of communal water-related accidents is careless handling of aquariums, when floors, furniture and lower apartments suffer from overflow during cleaning or filling. Such emergencies have already been recorded in residential high-rises of Moscow and Labytnangi. Elimination of the consequences of such flooding often leads to protracted litigation between residents, which is why experts strongly advise apartment owners to issue civil liability insurance policies.
A similar case occurred in Tatarstan, where the culprit of the flooding of high-rise buildings was a dog who laid down the need directly on the floor, as a result of which the neighbors from below spoiled the ceiling and shortened the electrical wiring. In addition, in the process of games or hunting for insects, animals often break expensive devices: for example, in Perm, a cat turned over the TV, in the Chelyabinsk region, pets ruined a laptop, snacking on wires and parts, and in the Russian capital region, dogs broke TV displays and dropped mobile phones on a hard surface.
Birds can also cause significant material damage: for example, in the Murmansk region, wild pigeons broke the protective net on the window, and in the Samara, Vologda, Kirov regions and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, birds crashed into windows, breaking windows, while in the Altai, the lining of a country house suffered. Homes of Russians suffer from insects – in Karelia, wood ants spoiled floorboards, and residents of the Ryazan region had to throw out all the upholstered furniture because of bedbugs that penetrated from a neighboring apartment. In rural areas, destruction is also recorded: in the Perm Territory, a bull rammed an outbuilding, and in another region, a clubfoot predator came out to people and destroyed the fence of the site.
