In Kursk, a 38-year-old local resident became another victim of remote scammers when trying to buy suburban real estate.
The woman for a long time was looking for a suitable cottage and eventually found an attractive option on one of the popular online platforms with ads. It was fully arranged and the location of the object, and its area, and the photos presented in the publication.
During a telephone conversation with the author of the ad, a potential buyer began to rush. The interlocutor said that this site claims a lot of people, so for inspection it is urgent to book time. The stranger promised to remove the object from the publication and “hold” it for the chicken, but only under the condition of making an advance payment, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Kursk region said.
Initially, the attacker asked for 130 thousand rubles, but the woman decided to trust her intuition and transferred him only 30 thousand, planning to give the rest of the amount after a real viewing.
However, it was not possible to agree on a meeting, since immediately after receiving the money, communication with the seller was interrupted. The man did not respond to further calls, and the advert was soon removed from the site.
On this fact, law enforcement officers began carrying out operational measures. People involved in fraud are being searched.
