False lawyers lured pensioner from Kargasok district 230 thousand rubles
Fraudsters promised 69-year-old man to return savings lost in 2020, and persuaded to transfer them savings

The Prosecutor’s office of Kargasok district of Tomsk region conducted a check on the appeal of a 69-year-old local resident who became a victim of cybercriminals. It turned out that the fraudulent scheme in which the applicant fell in May-July 2023, was based on his desire to return the savings lost three years earlier. The attackers called the man, introduced themselves as lawyers and offered assistance in returning the funds “invested” in 2020. Having come into trust, they convinced the pensioner to transfer them 231 thousand rubles and, having received the money, immediately interrupted the connection.
During the investigation of the criminal case of fraud, the owner of the account, which received the pensioner's savings, was found to be a resident of the Perm Territory, who denied his involvement in the scam. In defense of the rights of the victim, the prosecutor’s office sent a lawsuit to the court to recover unjust enrichment from the owner of the bank account. The court satisfied the request of the Prosecutor
