A criminal case against a 39-year-old citizen who is accused of embezzlement has been sent to court.

A criminal case against a 39-year-old citizen who is accused of embezzlement of property by modifying computer information was sent to the court, the Frunze district prosecutor’s office told the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency.

A pensioner with relatives was traveling outside the city when suspicious messages about debiting funds from the account began to arrive on her smartphone. The woman’s daughter was not confused, blocked her mother’s card and went with her to the address where the last payments were made.
It was a pizzeria on the street. Odintsova. An employee of the institution pointed to men who paid for the order with a pensioner's card. One of them turned out to be her neighbor, the Minsk woman had known him since childhood. The victim’s daughter immediately reported the incident to the police.
The defendant admitted that he found a credit card on a bench near the entrance of their house. In total, it made 10 transactions totaling 278.49 BYN.
In addition, the accused was involved in another similar crime: he also found a bank card and began to pay for purchases with it. The total amount of damage caused to the victim was more than 900 BYN.
A criminal case was opened against the attacker.
- The accused bachelor, nowhere officially employed, previously three times brought to criminal responsibility, twice of which — for committing property crimes, convictions extinguished, — said Deputy Prosecutor of the Frunze district Andrey Serbun. He was charged with committing crimes under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code (“Theft of property by modifying computer information”). The citizen fully admitted the guilt, the damage was compensated only to the neighbor. According to experts, he needs compulsory treatment for chronic alcoholism.
A preventive measure was applied against the accused in the form of a subscription not to leave and proper behavior.
