Minchanka faces 14th conviction for theft of money from a bank card

The measure of restraint in the form of detention was sanctioned against a 39-year-old previously repeatedly convicted citizen, who is accused of embezzlement of property by modifying computer information, the Frunze district prosecutor’s office told the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency.

In May 2025, the accused was released from a penal colony, but did not draw conclusions and did not begin to lead a respectable lifestyle. Once, while drinking alcohol in the company, she illegally took possession of the victim’s card and spent 1 728.45 BYN on alcohol and snacks.

Discovering the loss of credit cards and write-off of funds in accounts, the man filed a statement to the police. The identity of the suspect was quickly established, another criminal case was opened against the Minsk woman.

- The accused has a secondary education, she is divorced, has no children, is not officially employed anywhere, abuses alcohol, has previously been brought to criminal responsibility 13 times, nine of which are for committing property crimes, has a criminal record that has not been removed and not extinguished in accordance with the procedure established by law, Andrey Serbun, deputy prosecutor of the Frunze district, commented. She was charged with repeated theft of property by modifying computer information, that is, committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code. The citizen fully admitted the guilt, the damage was not compensated. A preventive measure in the form of remand in custody has been sanctioned against her.
