The U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrest of a man living in Washington state, which the investigation links to the preparation of the February attack on a Canadian school. The attack was carried out by eighteen-year-old Jesse Van Rootselaar, killing five students and one teacher.
According to the statement, thirty-year-old resident of Bellingham James Cody Bryant was arrested on charges of conspiracy to murder people in a foreign country — we are talking about his role in the school shooting that occurred on the tenth of February 2026 in British Columbia, Canada.
According to investigators, Bryant and Van Rootselaar began to communicate online no later than August 2025. Bryant allegedly agreed to record and broadcast the attack live, gave Van Rootselaar advice and wired him money.
