Fraudsters stole more than 320 million rubles from Kostromics since the beginning of the year
Since the beginning of the year, 343 cases of remote fraud have been registered in the Kostroma region

Since the beginning of the year, 343 cases of remote fraud have been registered in the Kostroma region. This is 7 more cases than a week earlier. Total material damage exceeded 320.3 million rubles (+7.1 million rubles per week).
Attackers continue to use proven schemes of deception. These are messages about “blocking suspicious transactions”, the legend of “cancellation of loans”, promises of fictitious social payments and phishing links when buying goods online.
Of particular concern are the transfer of cash to couriers. Last week, two residents of the region transferred 1.2 and 1.5 million rubles respectively to scammers under the pretext of receiving state compensation in connection with the death of relatives.
Police are urging Kostromics to remain vigilant and double-check any information relating to bank accounts.
