In Taiwan detained a 36-year-old man who is suspected of killing a 25-year-old woman and the subsequent arson of the apartment

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in Taiwan for allegedly killing a 25-year-old woman and setting fire to an apartment. According to police, the attacker entered the house after the victim, attacked her with a knife, and then set a fire, presumably trying to hide the traces of the crime. This was reported by the Central News Agency of Taiwan.
The crime occurred on the morning of October 11 in the Bade district of Taoyuan city. Emergency services received a report of a fire in a residential building. Arriving firefighters found in one of the apartments a woman with severe burns and a knife wound to the neck.
By the time the victim was handed over to medical professionals, she had no breathing and no heartbeat. The woman was taken to the hospital, but resuscitation did not help. At about 10:00, doctors pronounced her death.
The damage caused suspicions of the violent nature of the incident. Police launched an investigation and examined CCTV footage that helped identify the alleged attacker.
According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the man followed the 25-year-old woman to the living room, where he committed the attack. After that, he could set fire, hoping to destroy traces of what happened. The final circumstances of the crime are still being established.
The suspect was arrested. The prosecutor examined the scene, studied the collected materials and interviewed the relatives of the deceased.
On October 12, after questioning the man, the Taoyuan prosecutor's office appealed to the court for his detention. He is charged with murder in a robbery, arson and illegal entry into the home. In addition, the supervisory authority asked to limit the possibility of the suspect to communicate with others during detention.
