Interior Ministry: in Gomel blocked the supply channel of especially dangerous psychotropics

In the Gomel region suppressed the activities of an organized criminal group engaged in the supply of synthetic drugs. According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of a special operation, a large batch of psychotropic substances with a total weight of about 4 kg was seized.

According to law enforcement officers, a 26-year-old foreign citizen served as a wholesale and retail courier of an online store of prohibited substances. He moved over the border about 1 kg of especially dangerous psychotropic substance alpha-PVP for subsequent distribution through hiding places in the republic. The detention was carried out by drug control officers with the power support of the special forces unit “Lynx”.

As part of the further development of the channel, a 25-year-old courier from Minsk was detained. According to the head of the Department for Drug Control of the Internal Affairs Department of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Andrei Nasytko, 3 kg of mephedrone were found with the attacker and in the caches equipped with him.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against both detainees for the illegal sale of narcotic drugs by an organized group. The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
