Interior Ministry: Belarusian law enforcement officers received about 200 messages about calls of fraudsters

Over the past day, the police received about 200 reports of phone calls scammers. This was reported in the press service of the interior Ministry, writes sb.by.

Thanks to the efficiency of internal affairs officers and the vigilance of citizens, the vast majority of atrocities were prevented.

“14 crimes committed using information and communication technologies have been recorded. The department of the organization of processing fraudulent transactions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs blocked the possibility of payments to five foreign payment details used by attackers. The operatives detained a courier who worked in the interests of scammers, the Interior Ministry noted.

According to the method of committing illegal acts, visching on behalf of officials (telephone fraud), purchase of goods on the Internet and theft using social networks are leading. Then comes the phishing.
