Interior Ministry: four couriers of telephone fraudsters detained per day

Over the past day, the police received more than 200 reports of phone calls scammers. The vast majority of crimes have been prevented. This was reported in the interior Ministry, writes sb.by.

The police registered 19 illegal acts committed using information and communication technologies.

The department of the organization of processing fraudulent transactions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated the blocking of 13 phishing Internet resources (fake trading platforms, banks or services indistinguishable from real ones), blocked the possibility of payments to 25 foreign payment details used by attackers, suspended spending operations on 59 accounts.

- The operatives detained four couriers who worked in the interests of scammers, the Interior Ministry said. According to the method of committing illegal acts, the purchase of goods on the Internet and vishing on behalf of officials (telephone fraud) are leading. Then there are thefts using social networks, trading on financial exchanges and renting housing.
