A resident of Temryuk district will pay more than 55 million rubles for damage caused to a unique natural area.
We are talking about the nature monument “Mountain Gorelai” near the Zaporozhye village on the Taman Peninsula. In May 2023, a local farmer organized uncontrolled grazing of cattle there. The territory is specially protected, any economic activity on it is prohibited, but the man neglected this requirement.
The consequences were serious: due to trampling of the soil, the habitat of animals listed in the Red Book of Russia was actually destroyed. Specialists of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Krasnodar Territory assessed the damage and called the exact amount - 55,536,485.38 rubles.
The courts of three instances agreed with the arguments of the department and recognized the claims as justified. Now the farmer is obliged to compensate for the damage. The decision has already entered into legal force, the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Krasnodar Territory reports.
