On the banks of the Western Dvina, employees of the Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate detained a local fisherman who with an ordinary feeder extracted 48 kilograms of fish. This is reported by the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Animal and Vegetable World under the President of Belarus, writes sb.by.

The State Inspectorate states that cases of exceeding the limits on water bodies have become more frequent, which forces the agency to move from preventive to more stringent measures of influence.
A demonstration incident occurred on the banks of the Western Dvina. Employees of the Vitebsk regional inspection during the raids took red-handed local fisherman. The man, armed with an ordinary feeder, arranged a real industrial fishing on the river. The result of the fishing struck even experienced inspectors - 48 kilograms of fish. The net overfishing amounted to almost 32 kilograms, or 17 large breams.
The damage caused to the environment was estimated at 51 basic values, which amounted to 2295 Belarusian rubles. In addition, a protocol was drawn up in respect of a citizen under Article 16.25 of the Administrative Code of the Republic of Belarus.
The state inspectorate reminds: the rules are the same for everyone. In order not to become involved in an administrative or criminal case, it is important for amateur fishermen to strictly observe daily limits. The total catch should not exceed 5 kg of fish per day per person. The exception is if the weight of the last fish caught exceeds this limit or if one trophy fish initially weighs more than 5 kg. Fish for bait is allowed to produce no more than 30 copies per day. Without restrictions, you can catch weed and foreign fish: ratana head, American catfish, Amur chebach and gobies.
The inspectors emphasize that the control on water bodies will only increase. The excitement of fishing should not turn into banal poaching, because natural resources require careful treatment.
