In the cemetery in Romanian Slatin found a strange mass grave with the bodies of the dead during the pandemic. The burial was disguised as a crypt, Mayor Mario De Mezzo said.

According to him, the excavations found human bones and bags with undecomposed bodies left after COVID-19. They show the date of burial — these are special bags that were used in the pandemic.

“They were discovered after additional research and seized by the Romanian police,” the mayor said.

De Mezzo said the burial violated cemetery rules. The remains were found after the administration decided to remodel one of the crypts.

For the past 16 years, the cemetery has been run by a private service. The city hall sued her to return the territory to the register of city property. In September, the court sided with the city hall, after which the modernization began.
