Nepali authorities have urged villagers to move to safe places after massive flooding on a river in the central part of the country. Reuters reports.
A dry landslide in the village of Chumnubri in the Gorkha area blocked the river Budhi Gandaki. This led to flooding downstream.
According to officials, several houses and two suspension bridges were washed away, the hydroelectric power station was damaged. No casualties were reported.
National authorities warned residents of five districts of flooding. Military and police arrived in the risk zone, who are monitoring the situation from helicopters.
Recall that the Budhi Gandaki River is a tributary of Trishuli, where in August the collapse of the glacier caused catastrophic flooding.
