Police officers of Ussuriysk inform the population about the increase in the number of cases of fraud associated with the sale of pets via the Internet. Attackers use the credulity of citizens who want to buy a purebred pet.

The scheme is based on the publication of ads with attractive pictures of adult dogs, a detailed description of the pedigree and the subsequent booking of puppies. After receiving an advance payment, the false seller ceases to communicate with the buyer, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Primorye reports.

This is what happened to a 26-year-old resident of Primorye, who decided to get a dog. In the network, he found the profile of the breeder, allegedly located in Novosibirsk. After discussing the terms of payment and transportation of the animal, the man transferred money to the specified account. The delivery of the puppy was to take place in 10 days.

A week later, the buyer found that all correspondence in the messenger was deleted, and his contact was blocked. The seller stopped communicating. Realizing that he was a victim of fraud, the victim appealed to law enforcement agencies.

A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for liability for fraud. Currently, investigative measures are being carried out to identify the persons involved in the commission of the crime.
