The patient could set fire to the regional hospital Birobidzhan

In the regional hospital of Birobidzhan there was a fire, 24 patients were evacuated from the building. The preliminary cause of the fire was called arson, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Jewish Autonomous Region (EAO).

A fire was reported in the resident trauma department at night. 23 specialists were sent to the scene, and hospital staff organized the evacuation of patients.

As a result of the fire, a sofa and personal belongings burned out on an area of 3 square meters. There were no injuries and medical equipment was not damaged.

According to preliminary data of the EAO government, arson could have been committed by one of the patients. He was detained by law enforcement officers, the circumstances of the incident are established.
