The Barabinsk-Novosibirsk train was late by more than five hours after equipment fire and damage to the contact network
Passengers of the evening train No. 7134, en route from Barabinsk to Novosibirsk, reached their destination only in the morning of October 28. The train stopped due to an accident at the railway stretch, and then passengers were transferred to the reserve train. This was reported in the telegram channel “Novosibirsk Railways”.
The incident occurred at about 18:30 on October 27 at the site between Kozhurla and Ubinskoe stations. According to the West Siberian Railway and eyewitnesses, the contact wire was damaged and the electric equipment of the EP2D-0192 electric train caught fire. The fire was quickly eliminated, but the restoration of the contact network took several hours.
In Ubinskaya train arrived at 21:49 — about four and a half hours later than the schedule. Then the delay continued to increase. The Chulym train arrived at 01:08 on October 28 instead of the planned 19:56 the day before.
At the Chulym station, passengers were transplanted into a reserve electric train. They reached Novosibirsk at four o'clock in the morning. The final delay exceeded five hours.
The WSJD reported that significant delays of other passenger trains were avoided. The carrier apologized for the inconvenience.
Problems with trains in this direction have arisen before. In February 2026, train No. 7132 Barabinsk – Novosibirsk broke down about 13 kilometers west of Ubinskaya station. Then the delay was about four hours.
In addition, in the autumn, the Kirzinskoye-Barabinsk section carried out major repairs of the railway track. Due to the movement along one route, it was necessary to adjust the schedule of a number of suburban trains in the western direction and long-distance trains.
Earlier, "MK in Novosibirsk" reported that between Novosibirsk and Kemerovo plan to launch a train in 2027.
