Pensioner from Pachelma lost almost a million rubles after two phone calls

A resident of the Pachelm district lost more than 980 thousand rubles after communicating with strangers who introduced themselves as employees of the pension fund and the security service of the Central Bank.
A statement to the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Pachelm district was addressed by a local resident born in 1956. At first, he received a call from an unknown person who introduced herself as an employee of the pension fund. She informed the pensioner that he was supposedly entitled to payments and benefits, and to receive them asked to name the number SNILS. The man complied with the request of the interlocutor.
After a while, another call followed. Another stranger called herself an employee of the security service of the Central Bank. She said that the bank account men are suspicious transactions, which allegedly managed to block.
To save money, the pensioner was offered to transfer it to a “safe account”. Following the instructions received, the man transferred a total of more than 980 thousand rubles.
After the transfer of money, the interlocutors stopped communicating. Then the man realized that he was a victim of fraud, and went to the police.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The article provides for up to six years of imprisonment.
