Recalculation of pension cost the man 3 million

A criminal case was opened on the fact of theft of a large sum from an elderly resident of Tver. The victim of telephone fraud was an 86-year-old man who lost all savings.

The scheme of deception began with a call from the social fund: the pensioner was invited to the institution allegedly for recalculation of payments and under the pretext of preparing documents was lured from him passport data, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Tver region reports.

Then unknown, posing as economic security analysts and law enforcement officers, during a series of calls persuaded the man to prove his non-involvement in Ukraine. For this, according to the callers, it was necessary to transfer all savings to the Accounts Chamber.

Believing the false investigators, the Tverishan collected 3 022 000 rubles, put the money in a red package and handed over to the courier in the yard of his house. After receiving the funds, the fraudsters stopped communicating, and the numbers they used were inactive.

Realizing that he was a victim of fraud, the man went to the police. Currently, operational measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved in the crime.
