The St. Petersburg city court sentenced local resident Fedor Zaitsev for calling for extremism on the Internet. The man was sentenced to one and a half years in a colony-settlement and banned for two years to lead pages in social networks. This was reported in the joint press service of the courts of the city.
The reason for the case was a comment that Zaitsev left in one of the chats during the discussion of the armed rebellion of PMC Wagner under the leadership of Yevgeny Prigozhin. Experts examined the text and found in it calls for violence against Russian citizens, Russian military and government officials.
At the trial, St. Petersburg fully admitted his guilt. In addition to the punishment of imprisonment, the man confiscated 10 thousand rubles, recognized as the monetary equivalent of his laptop.
