Forged checks and made contracts for others: taxi driver from Minsk illegally bought 12 cars

A taxi driver from Minsk bought 12 used cars using an illegal scheme. This was reported in the Mingory Executive Committee, writes sb.by.

The representative of the capital company for the sale of used cars appealed to the Frunze police department of Minsk and reported a large shortage in the account, which was revealed during the audit. The company lost about 180 thousand rubles.

Law enforcement officers conducted a complex of operational-search measures and on suspicion of committing a crime detained a 25-year-old taxi driver.

It was established that the Minsk resident had previously been engaged in the resale of cars and knew how the mechanism for the purchase and sale of foreign cars works. In addition, his friend worked in the company, who at meetings often talked about how work is arranged at the company. The defendant began to buy used vehicles. He made contracts for his former clients using copies of their documents. After issuing an invoice for payment, the man contributed only part of the money, and in the receipt with the help of the editor indicated the required amount. The defendant provided a check for payment and took the vehicle to himself.

It is known that in this way he bought 12 cars, which he later sold using a specialized Internet platform. So that law enforcement officers did not calculate it, when placing ads, the man used SIM cards, which were later destroyed.

The defendant said that the money he spent on paying off debts and buying new cars.

A criminal case was opened for fraud on an especially large scale.

He stole the property of 18 citizens and two enterprises. The Prosecutor General’s office transferred to the court a criminal case of fraud
