In the Lazarevsky district of Sochi, a 43-year-old visitor from Moscow was detained, who stole a foreign car left open and drove it to the sea.
According to the police, the owner of the purple Subaru went to the store and did not close the car. The keys remained in the ignition lock. When he did not find the car, he immediately contacted law enforcement.
Employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate found a foreign car on the territory of one of the boarding houses, right by the beach. According to the department, the man then went to the nearest cafe. The car was seized, and the suspect was detained.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years in prison.
