After the explosion of gas and the death of three people opened a case

In North Ossetia, a criminal case was opened on the fact of leakage of a gas-air mixture in a private house, which led to the death of people, the press service of the Investigative Committee for the Republic on Wednesday.

According to the results of verification measures, the Investigative Department for the Mozdok district of the SU IC of Russia for RSO-Alania initiated a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements of life and health of consumers, which resulted in the death of two or more persons by negligence).

According to the investigation, on October 27, 2026, cotton occurred in one of the households in the village of Kizlyar, Mozdok district due to the accumulation of the gas-air mixture, followed by a fire. The incident killed three people, two of them children.

Investigators and criminologists of the regional department of the Investigative Committee examined the scene of the incident, appointed the necessary examinations and continue other investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
