Believing phone fraudsters Volgogradka lost more than 2.4 million rubles
In the Krasnooktyabrsky district of Volgograd, a major fraud is being investigated: a 26-year-old local resident transferred a large amount of money to the attackers.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Volgograd region, from October 30 to November 6, 2026, the woman was repeatedly called by unknown people. They posed as law enforcement officers and, under the pretext of protecting money, persuaded her to transfer her savings to the specified accounts. The victim was following instructions through banking mobile apps. As soon as all funds were transferred, the scammers cut the connection. Realizing that she was deceived, the woman went to the police.
The investigation opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale). Now law enforcement officers conduct operational-search measures to establish those involved in the crime.
The police urge Volgograd residents to be extremely careful: do not trust calls from strangers who pose as employees of banks or law enforcement agencies and ask to transfer money. There is no such thing as a “safe” account, police warn. With such calls, you need to immediately stop the conversation and contact the bank at the official number.
