In the Pravdinsky district, a 20-year-old young man stole a lika worth 55 thousand rubles from a pensioner. Police found the suspect thanks to a mobile phone he accidentally lost.
The dog was reported missing in December last year. The 79-year-old owner did not immediately contact police as he was not at first sure the animal had been stolen and tried to find it himself.
In September, a pensioner mowed grass on his property and found someone else's phone in the snow. Law enforcement officers established the owner of the gadget - it was a 20-year-old resident of the village Railway.
During the investigation, it turned out that the young man climbed over the fence, unfastened the dog from the chain and took it to his apartment. At the same time, during the theft, he dropped the phone, which was later found by the owner of the site.
According to the suspect, the dog subsequently escaped from him.
A criminal case was opened on the guy about theft committed with causing significant damage to a citizen. Under this article, he could face up to five years in prison.
