Preobrazhensky court of Moscow is considering a criminal case against 41-year-old Boris Balmont, the great-grandson of the poet Konstantin Balmont. The man is accused of using a fake sick leave. This is reported by the telegram channel Mash.
The reason for the proceedings was Balmont's absence from work for several days. He explained the absence of an illness, and later sent the employer a photo of a document confirming disability. Checks showed the hospital was fake. After that, the man was fired, and a criminal case was opened against him about the trafficking of forged documents.
Balmont is currently under a travel ban. According to Mash, he faces a fine or restriction of freedom for several months.
The man himself denies intentionally using a fake. He claims that he was going to go to surgery, but there was confusion in the hospital: the document was issued by the wrong doctor, and subsequently the medical institution retroactively declared the hospital invalid.
