According to investigators, the woman tried to drown her son in the lake, first pouring 70 percent acetic acid down his throat and pouring it on his face. The boy was able to get ashore and contact passers-by who called an ambulance.
On Saturday, the joint press service of St. Petersburg courts announced the arrest of the woman for two months. She was charged with attempted murder.
There are also two daughters in the family. The child is under medical supervision.
