CNN reports that an American Airlines plane en route from Madrid to Dallas was forced to make an unscheduled landing at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport. The reason was that almost all toilets on board failed.
An American Airlines flight from Madrid landed in New York after all but two restrooms stopped working on board the Boeing 777. CNN, citing the Federal Aviation Administration, clarifies that the crew reported to dispatchers about the insufficient number of operating toilets. There were 287 people on board the Boeing 777, and the flight itself usually takes more than ten hours. Of the eight toilets, only two were functioning.
According to CNN, the plane remained fuel for more than four hours, because of which its landing weight exceeded the norm and this could lead to overheating of the brakes. The pilot announced an international PAN signal, which means an urgent problem that does not threaten people's lives.
The aircraft landed safely and after more than three hours of parking in New York continued on its way to Dallas, the channel points out with reference to the flight tracking service FlightAware.
CNN, citing experts, notes that while it is not known exactly what happened on board this aircraft, aircraft toilets are complex devices that work due to air pressure, and they can clog or fail for other reasons.
Earlier it was reported that in the United States the plane touched the wing of another aircraft.
