According to investigators, a 41-year-old woman doused her 12-year-old son with 70 percent acetic acid, including getting on his face and pouring liquid into his throat. She then tried to drown the child in the lake.

The boy was able to independently get to the shore and get to passers-by. They called an ambulance, after which the child was hospitalized.

Law enforcement officials said the boy has limited health options. He grows up in a family and has two sisters.

The joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg reported the arrest of a woman in the case of attempted murder. According to the court, she partially admitted guilt.
