Law enforcement officers of the Nevsky District of St. Petersburg detained a man suspected of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. The reason for the procedural actions was a report received by the police from a medical institution.
According to data received from medical workers, a 29-year-old man was hospitalized in serious condition from building 5 of building 1 along 3rd Rabfakovsky Lane, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reports. Doctors diagnosed the victim with a stab wound to the chest.
During the operational search activities, the criminal investigation officers identified and detained the suspect. It turned out to be a previously convicted 38-year-old resident of the Northern capital. According to preliminary data, the incident occurred the day before after the joint drinking of alcoholic beverages. During a sudden conflict caused by jealousy, the attacker stabbed the victim in the chest area.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The suspect was detained in the manner prescribed by Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation.
