Emergency regime introduced in Pyshma due to destruction after the storm

The head of the Pyshminsky urban district Stanislav Fomin held a meeting of the emergency commission to sum up the results of the past storm. Numerous infrastructure damage was recorded in the municipality. As the head of the district wrote in social networks, there were no victims.

The most serious damage was caused to the building of the Pyshmin school: a strong gust of wind completely tore off the roof of the three-storey building. The area of the damaged roof was 1,500 out of 2,354 squares. In addition, the mauerlat of brickwork along the perimeter of the roof was destroyed, three windows were damaged (one of them requires complete replacement), and the outdoor lighting was also disrupted.

After lessons, children were taken out of the building by organized groups under the supervision of staff. On Monday, the possibility of switching to distance learning is being considered - if the debris cannot be removed over the weekend.

To assess the scale of destruction, it is planned to survey the territory using a drone. In the coming days, the head of the district, together with specialists, will inspect the damage and make a decision on repair or dismantling the structure.

Other consequences of the storm were recorded throughout the district: trees were felled, garbage dumps were demolished, several settlements were temporarily left without electricity. In some places, electricity has already been restored, in others work is continuing.

Stanislav Fomin introduced a state of emergency on the territory of the Pyshmin school - this will allow to quickly eliminate the consequences of the disaster. Verification of the causes of the incident is carried out by the Prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee.

The district authorities continue to work to restore infrastructure and ensure the safety of residents.

Earlier, MK-Ural wrote that in Pyshma of the Sverdlovsk region, the roof of the local school suffered because of bad weather: wind gusts tore off about 1,000 square meters of coverage. No one was injured in the incident. The school continues to work as usual, classes are held on schedule. Near the building, traffic police officers are on duty: they help regulate traffic and prevent congestion.
