Russians warned about “holiday payments” from scammers
Pensioners are asked for bank card details, a security code on the back and a code from SMS.

Before the Day of the elderly, scammers again switched to pensioners. Attackers call citizens, posing as employees of the Social Fund of Russia or social protection bodies, and report a certain lump sum payment.
To issue accrual remotely, without a visit to the MFC, pensioners are asked for bank card details, a protective code on the back and a code from SMS, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region reports. If the interlocutor becomes interested in such information under the pretext of social payment, the conversation should be stopped immediately.
Experts remind of precautionary measures. Do not inform third parties of bank card data and codes from SMS or push notifications. It is impossible to carry out financial transactions on the instructions of unknown persons. It is recommended to specify the information on the due payments independently through official state resources.
Earlier it was reported that deaf and hard-of-hearing people were under the attack of fraudsters who learned to bypass video verification using artificial intelligence. The scammers are now refusing video calls. Instead, they refer to the alleged visit to the dentist and send photos of the victim from the clinic generated by the neural network.
