In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a criminal case is being investigated on the attempted murder of a woman in the city of Semyonov. This is reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the investigation, the man doused the former cohabitant with flammable liquid and set her on fire. The victim received extensive burns, underwent several operations and is in serious condition.

On the air of the program on the federal television channel, where this story was discussed, information was also voiced about possible illegal actions previously committed by the man against other women, for which, allegedly, he was not prosecuted.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed the acting head of the regional SU IC to report on the progress of the investigation, the established circumstances and on the arguments of the TV show.
