Since the beginning of autumn in Buryatia there were more than 100 fires in residential buildings

In Buryatia since the beginning of autumn registered more than 100 fires in residential premises. Since the beginning of 2026, more than 2.1 thousand fires have occurred in the republic.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the number of deaths from fires increased by 20% compared to the same period, and the number of injured by 26%. More than 60% of the victims were intoxicated. As a result of the fires killed three children, another 11 minors were injured.

The main causes of fires are careless handling of fire, emergency operation of electric networks and electrical equipment, as well as violation of the rules of operation of heating furnaces.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges residents to comply with fire safety rules: do not leave the furnace unattended, do not allow children to its furnace, regularly clean the chimneys, do not overload the power grid and do not use wires with damaged insulation. Also, experts recommend installing autonomous fire detectors that can detect smoke at an early stage.
