Collecting wild bushes turned into a criminal case for a man

In Krasnoyarsk completed the investigation of the criminal case against a visitor from Irkutsk. The materials have gone to court. The man is accused of illegal acquisition and possession of drugs on a large scale.

The arrest took place in early July. The police department's drug control team acted on the basis of operational information. The detained citizen seized a black package containing a substance of plant origin, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reports. The total weight of 48 seized plants exceeded 420 grams.

It turned out that the defendant collected drug-containing plants on one of the streets in Krasnoyarsk. According to investigators, the man was walking near the bus station, drew attention to the wild thickets and ripped them off. The accused explained that he collected the plant exclusively for personal use and did not plan to sell it.

Criminal case initiated under part 2 of article 228 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation. This provision establishes liability for the illegal acquisition and possession of narcotic drugs without the purpose of marketing, committed on a large scale, and provides for the punishment of imprisonment for up to 10 years. In respect of the accused, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen.
